AMEX Offers | Enjoy up to 3000 Points on Bill Payments

Charging your American Express Card for Insurance & Utility payments doesn't fetch any reward points. However, periodically American Express triggers promotions that offer accelerated Reward Points on paying Insurance Premiums & Utility Bill payments. 

One such offer is below. In addition, you can earn up to 3,000 points when you make online payments for recurring utility expenses like water, electricity, and gas with your American Express Card.

Offer Details

• Cardmember will get 5 Membership Rewards Points for every Rs. 100 spent on utility transactions in a calendar month on their American Express Card (including the transactions on linked Supplementary Card).

• A Cardmember will be eligible for a maximum of 1000 Membership Rewards Points in each calendar month and a maximum of 3000 Membership Rewards Points (1000 Membership Rewards Points per month) during the offer period. 

Offer Duration

• The offer is valid from January 4, 2021, to March 31, 2021 (inclusive of both days).

Offer Fulfilment

• Membership Rewards Points will be credited to Cardmember's account within 90 days after the calendar month in which eligible spends under the offer have been made.

Offer Conditions

• The offer is applicable to only select American Express Cardmembers. A Cardmember is eligible for this offer only if they have received an offer communication directly from American Express through any of its channels.

• Spends must be posted to the Card account by the end of the calendar month in which the spending has been made. If the merchant partner does not submit the initiated charge to be posted to your Card account during this period, the spend may not be eligible for this offer.

• Utilities spend comprises of spends made on only electricity, water & gas bills.

• Only eligible transactions going through merchant platforms will be eligible for Membership Rewards Points. Transactions going through an aggregator (like Paypal, Paytm, PayU, Amazon Pay, PhonePe, etc.) may not trigger Membership Rewards Points.

To reap the maximum benefit, you need to make utility bill payments aggregating to Rs 10,000 per month, i.e., Rs 10000 ÷ 50 = 200 Points x 5 = 1000 Points per month.
