Paytm launches 2 variant of Credit Cards in partnership with SBI Card
After the Paytm First Credit Card powered by Citibank failed to garner customers and create a solid user base. Paytm has launched another two variants of credit cards, namely, the Paytm SBI Card and the Paytm SBI SELECT Credit Card.
As the name implies, both the card variants come powered with SBI Cards, the country’s largest credit card issuer and up to some extent, tried the mimic the benefits and features from that of Flipkart Axis Bank Credit Card and Amazon Pay ICICI Credit Card.
Alike Flipkart Axis Bank Credit Card and Amazon Pay ICICI Credit Card cashback ecosystem, Paytm SBI Card SELECT, and Paytm SBI Cardholders will receive a cashback of :
- 5% and 3% respectively, upon booking movie tickets and travel tickets on the Paytm App as well as on purchasing items from Paytm Mall
- 2% cashback for other spending on the Paytm App
- 1% cashback on spending elsewhere.
Because Amazon and Flipkart enjoy a much more significant chunk of share in online shopping when compared to Paytm Mall and that Amazon Pay takes care of all bill payments, movie tickets, and travel tickets— further benefiting users with 2% cashback — The Paytm Card benefits and features do not seem to be very attractive. The imposed annual fee on these cards is set to ice the cake with disappointments.
On the brighter side, the card is controllable through innovative one-tap features on the Paytm App itself as it comes equipped with instant one-touch services such as:
- Blocking/Unblocking the card for online transactions
- Blocking the card in case of loss
- Issuance of a duplicate card
- Viewing outstanding credit limit.
- Switching the card on/off for contactless payments
- Enable/Disable international transactions
