Off Topic - Flipkart's cheap marketing gimmicks
No doubt we get some good deals while shopping online during festivities. I myself buy most of the stuff from online stores for primarily 2 reasons; first being cheaper & competitive rates and the second; getting the products delivered at your doorstep without moving a single step.
But there are many instances wherein these online platforms like Flipkart starts playing marketing gimmicks with potential buyers.
First, they offer products at cheap-dirt or throw-away prices, and once you place the order; they abruptly cancel it citing a stupid reason.
One such incident happened to me just a couple of days ago, and I thought I should share it with my readers.
A 65" Ultra HD 4K Smart LED TV offered at just Rs 1999
A 55" Ultra HD 4K Smart LED TV offered at just Rs 949
A 43" Full HD Smart LED TV offered at just Rs 1499
A 32" HD Ready LED TV offered at just Rs 799
A 24" Full HD LED TV offered at just Rs 474
Unbelievable price isn't it?
Unfortunately, it's just the offerings that they will never fulfill. Refer screenshot below to see what they do after you have placed an order.
Yes! They cancel your order with the lamest excuse they can come up with. As per them the delivery address that I provided is not complete and that I need to place a fresh order (at full price) with the updated address so that it can be fulfilled by the seller. How lame, eh?
I have been ordering from Flipkart since 2007 at this same address, and my total purchases from them are close to Rs 1 Crore in the last 12 years.
Maybe they could have sent me at least 1 TV. No?
Further, I have some similar cases wherein Amazon did the same thing, but they are a little better than Flipkart. Sometimes you can expect your steal deal purchases to be delivered in reality. You might want to read my article Steal Deals at Amazon.
